How to Convert Audio Files Between Formats

Different platforms and devices require different audio formats. AVMint lets you convert between all major audio formats: MP3 (universal), WAV (lossless), AAC (Apple/streaming), FLAC (lossless compressed), and OGG (open source).

1

Upload your audio file

Open AVMint's Audio Convert tool and drop your audio file. Supported formats: MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, M4A.

2

Select output format

Choose your target format. Each format has its strengths: MP3 for compatibility, WAV for editing, FLAC for archival, AAC for streaming, OGG for open-source platforms.

3

Convert and download

Click Convert. Processing happens in your browser. Download the converted audio file.

Tip

Converting from a lossy format (MP3) to lossless (FLAC) won't improve quality — it only increases file size. Always convert from the highest quality source.

FAQ

Which format should I use?

MP3 for general sharing, FLAC for archival/audiophile use, AAC for Apple devices and streaming, WAV for audio editing, OGG for game development.

Does converting audio reduce quality?

Converting between lossy formats (MP3→AAC) involves a generation loss. Converting from lossless to lossy (WAV→MP3) is fine. AVMint uses 192kbps for lossy formats.
