How to Create a GIF from Video

Animated GIFs are perfect for reactions, tutorials, and social media. AVMint lets you create optimized GIFs from any video — with control over start time, duration (up to 15 seconds), and output size.

1

Upload your video

Open AVMint's Video to GIF tool and drop your video file.

2

Set timing and size

Enter the start time (in seconds) and duration (max 15 seconds). Choose a size preset: Small (320px) for chat, Medium (480px) for social media, or Large (640px) for blogs.

3

Create and download

Click Create GIF. AVMint generates an optimized GIF with a color palette algorithm for best quality at the smallest size. Download your GIF.

Tip

Shorter GIFs with smaller dimensions produce much smaller files. A 5-second 320px GIF is typically under 2MB, while a 15-second 640px GIF can be 10MB+.

FAQ

Why is my GIF so large?

GIF is an inefficient format. Reduce duration, lower the size preset, or consider using WebM/MP4 for looping video — they're much smaller.

Can I create a GIF longer than 15 seconds?

AVMint limits GIFs to 15 seconds to keep file sizes manageable. For longer animations, consider using a video loop instead.
